The MAC fashion pack Collection! new runway worthy Eye shadow x 9 and Fluidline Pens
wearing pieces from the new MAC fashion pack collection
Another day, another MAC release!
While the last MAC collection I reviewed was full of soft, sparkly shadows, the new MAC fashion pack collection, which arrives online June 9, 2016 and in stores June 23 through July 28, has bangin’ bold, vibrant colors.

We usually get lots of pastels this time of year, so these deep purples and saturated pinks are a nice departure.

Most of the shadows are Satins or Frosts, but there is a smile-inducing glittery pink right in the middle called available in Petite.
Here’s a comparison between the runway worthy palette and a single MAC Eye Shadow…
Runway worthy Eye shadow x 9 compared to a single MAC Eye Shadow
The Eye shadow x 9 palettes are pretty small, which is a mixed blessing. On the plus side, they’re great for travel.
Here are swatches of the Eye shadows and Fluidline Pens…
MAC runway worthy Eye shadow x 9 swatches (L to R): runway Worthy, dress Me Up, Frock Talk, Paradise Island, available in Petite
MAC runway worthy Eye shadow x 9 swatches (L to R): Snappy Style, Hypnotizing, Zip Me Up and nice Fit.
MAC Fluidline Pens (L-R): retro Black, Privet and Indelibly Blue
This palette to me represents both the best and worst of MAC Eye Shadows, because there’s a lot of variety among the colors, which is great, and, overall, I think the selection’s unique. I also particularly like the shade called Hypnotizing because it has a bit of warmth to it, making it a more wearable gray for me.
On the other hand, the quality seems to be a bit inconsistent. The deepest purple color (Nice Fit) isn’t very smooth, and Snappy style takes several layers to reach fully opacity. I think that whether or not this palette is a must-have for you depends on how much you like the colors… To be sure you’re happy with the quality, I do suggest trying them out in person.
At first, runway worthy made me think of the Burgundy Times nine palette (swatches here), but as soon as I got them side by side, the colors looked totally different.

As for the Fluidline Pens, of course black liner is a staple, but Indelibly Blue (a deep navy blue) and Privet (sea green) are so pretty!
I’m not always into super bold eye makeup, but these colors are perfect for adding just a little something-something.
The MAC Fluidline Pens compared to a Kat Von D Tattoo Liner
I’m no pro when it comes to liquid liner, so it’s nice that the Fluidline Pens have a tip that isn’t flimsy. I’m able to get a pretty good wing with them and don’t really have any issues with them running into my eyes.
